Hi there! I am a sensory ecologist using behavioral, physiological, and neural approaches to understand how a variety of organisms sense their world around them.
Starting in Spring 2026, I will be starting as a postdoctoral scholar in the Sisneros Lab at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. I recently completed my PhD in the Lohmann Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill through the Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Behavior program in the Department of Biology. Here, I investigated the mechanisms and neural processing of magnetic sensing in vertebrates.
Prior to graduate school, I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2018. I was an undergraduate research assistant in the Mensinger Lab and studied fish physiology and behavior in both marine and freshwater species.
I grew up in Minnesota, surrounded by the 10,000 lakes and the outdoors, which is where my love of animals, nature, and science sparked from. In my spare time, I'll likely be outside with my pup, baking tasty gluten-free bread, or diving deep into a book.
